Background

Simple Again, the parent company of Performance Food Centers & swiig, has been in business for over 20 years designing, building, supplying & stocking smoothie bars & home pantries across North America. Their focus is on healthy, whole foods while also educating their consumers in the process.

Overview

Simple Again came to us with 2 primary goals in mind; redesign & rebuild their existing websites & create a few new websites in the process. This included redoing their current flagship websites, Performance Food Centers & swiig, as well as building a new University site. In the past, they had struggled to edit the content of both websites, which lived on Magento & ExpressionEngine, so we knew we we’re going to have to build products that were easy to internally manage.

From the Ground Up

In order to tackle these projects, we had to work with their leadership & marketing teams to unpack, strategize and prioritize the work that needed to be done. After a few round-table discussions, we decided to tackle the swiig website first, then the Performance Food Centers website followed by the new University website.

swiig

The first website we decided to tackle was swiig, their retail brand. In order to accommodate their ecommerce needs, we opted to build their new website on Shopify. In retrospect, this was a sound decision as it gave them much greater & easier control over their catalog as opposed to their previous platform, Magento. The website was built with many robust features, such as Sections, upsells, subscriptions, a blog & much more.

Performance Food Centers

Our second website to be tackled was Performance Food Centers, their wholesale brand. This product featured a new design, build & platform migration to Webflow from ExpressionEngine. The website is robust to say the least, featuring numerous landing pages showcasing their offerings, a resource-rich Members’s Club with thousands of pieces of material used by their customers, SSO Integration with their wholesale Shopify store & much more.

Content Management

One of the biggest challenges faced by Simple Again prior to their new websites but the ability for them to manage content. Not only was it difficult, but also time consuming. With the new swiig website, their internal marketing team has the power to go in and change content, redesign landing pages, update products & more. Likewise, they have a high level of control over the PFC website in order to nurture marketing campaigns, swap out content, etc.

Wrap-Up

While we’ve only built the swiig & PFC websites so far, the results have been a success. In the near future, we’re planning to develop their PFC University web application as well as their new franchising website. If they’re feeling ambitious, we may even get the opportunity to redesign & build their wholesale store, which has thousands of products.
